Professor Russell Inducted into the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering

Professor Alexander RussellThe Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering recently announced their list of Scientist and Engineer inductees for 2017. Congratulations to Dr. Alexander C. Russell, Professor and Director of the graduate program, for this honorable lifetime achievement.

Dr. Russell’s research includes cryptography, quantum computing, electronic voting technology,   survivable distributed information and computational systems. As a co-director of the UConn Center for Voting Technology Research, he has significantly contributed to the security and integrity of elections in Connecticut.

The Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering is a private, nonprofit, public-service institution patterned after the National Academy of Sciences. The Academy identifies and studies issues and technological advances that are or should be of concern to the people of Connecticut, and provides unbiased, expert advice on science- and technology-related issues to state government and other Connecticut institutions.

New members will be introduced, and the Medal of Science conferred, at the Academy’s annual meeting and dinner on May 22 at UConn’s Rome ballroom.
