CSE Colloquium with Bernie Gracy-VP of Pitney Bowes

 Join us on Thursday, November 6th from 4-5pm in ITE 336 for a seminar with Bernie Gracy, Pitney Bowes Vice President of Strategy and Digital Commerce Solutions. He will be visiting CSE from 3-6pm.  Bernie is a UCONN CSE alumnus. He will give a talk spanning several strategic directions of Pitney Bowes ranging from location intelligence to big data applications.

Learn how a 94 year old Fortune 500 Connecticut company whose first disruptive innovation was against the postage stamp has transformed itself in the digital age to become the location intelligence platform for Facebook and Twitter, the trans-border e-commerce platform for eBay, and the data quality platform for Salesforce.com.

 Speaker Bio:

 Bernie Gracy is the VP Strategy of Pitney Bowes’ Digital Commerce Solutions.  Among his prior roles, Bernie led the turnaround of its first software business and subsequently led 3 acquisitions totaling $800M to form Pitney Bowes Software.  Before joining Pitney Bowes, Bernie played a key role in the establishment of the United Parcel Service’s global mobile platform and nationwide vehicle communications network for 80,000 package delivery drivers in 29 countries.

Bernie has a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Connecticut, an M.S. in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an M.S. in E-Commerce from the University of Maryland University College. He has three U.S. patents and numerous domestic and international patents pending.
