The 2026 Graduate Student Fellowship Award Ceremony

Congratulations to our graduate students for being recognized for their academic accomplishments by receiving prestigious fellowship awards! Predoctoral Fellowships are awarded by school recommendation and are intended to accelerate progress of recipients towards the completion of doctoral degree requirements.

Yushan Jiang received the School’s top honor – the Taylor L. Booth graduate fellowship. This fellowship, named after UConn alum and CSE department founder Taylor L. Booth, is awarded to a doctoral student intending to pursue a faculty career at an American university upon completion of their Ph.D.

Additional awards were presented as follows:

The Marion and Frederick Buckman Engineering fellowship award was presented to Kaiyang Li.

The Anthony W. DeSio Endowed Fellowship in Computer Science fellowship award was presented to Trevor N. Thomas.

The Sarah Levitan Larie Computer Science and Engineering Fellowships were presented to Sophia Gomez Reynoso and Mason Moore.

The Professor Reda Ammar Fellowship in Computer Science and Engineering Fellowship was presented to Md Zakir Hossain.

The UConn Computer Science Predoctoral Fellowship Tier 1 awards were presented to Nima Naderloui, Xi Xie, Kiran Thorat, and Kanghui Ning.

The UConn Computer Science Predoctoral Fellowship Tier 2 awards were presented to Qin Yang, Dingbang Wang, Yuan Zhuang, Mostafa Karami, Amey Shukla, and Jianchang Su

The UConn Computer Science Predoctoral Fellowship Tier 3 awards were presented to Masum Shah Junayed, Afsana Ahsan Jeny, Marjan Hosseini, Hao Wang, Mainak Mondal, Yeonsoo Chung, Ziming Li, Ali Arastehfard, Sara Wrotniak, Maryam Rezapour, Xuyang Shen, CheonJin Park, Jiazheng Li, Md Amit Hasan, Qianying Ren, Joyanta Basak, Zijie Pan, Nidhibahen Shah, and Chiman Salavati
